Export for Taxes
Download financial data in formats compatible with tax preparation tools.
Download financial data in formats compatible with tax preparation tools.
Steps
- Go to Settings > Data > Export
(/dashboard/settings/data?tab=export). - If you run more than one business, pick a Business to scope the file to one trade, or leave it on "All businesses."
- Choose a time period using a preset (Q1–Q4, Full Year, Last Year, Last 3 Months, Last 12 Months) or a custom date range.
- Pick a format: the Schedule C summary, the transaction register (CSV — the evidence behind every other number, with each entry's real date, source document, and tax treatment), TXF for tax software (TurboTax, H&R Block, TaxAct), the 1099-K reconciliation (as a readable walk or a spreadsheet), or a QuickBooks Online bank CSV.
- Click the download button on that card to generate and save the file.
- The Schedule C summary renders one form per business — each trade files its own Schedule C — plus book totals underneath (quarterly breakdown, estimated tax payments, 1099 vendor tracking, and sales tax collected).
- Configure your tax profile, estimated rate, and quarterly deadlines in the setup wizard at Tax > Set up
(/dashboard/tax/setup)— step through profile → estimates → review → done.
Every download is recorded under "What you've sent out," with the business it covered and a fingerprint of the numbers it contained — re-downloading the same period proves whether anything changed. If the books don't reconcile for the period, the file still downloads; you're told plainly that we couldn't certify it.
The quarterly cards on your Tax Center show honest statuses: they never display a false "paid" (only a recorded payment marks a quarter paid), and prompt "not set up" until you finish the setup wizard. Estimates are safe-harbor-led with a confidence indicator.
